PE Teacher Training

Teacher support and training to enable the Teachers of schools to obtain the skills and experience.

PE Teacher Training

We currently provide and offer Teacher support and training to enable the Teachers of schools to obtain the skills and experience to be able to deliver a structured PE session in various sports and activities. Teachers will shadow our qualified staff during the PE delivery and will be introduced how to plan and deliver a structured PE session.

All teachers are expected to complete reflective journals (provided) and will be observed every six to eight weeks by an independent observer (SGSE Staff) to aid with their continuous personal development (CPD). Teachers are expected to follow and complete the actions, advice and guidance given by the PE Lead and the Observer.
By the end of each delivery time period the Teacher will be able to deliver a structured session within the chosen activity/sport for the delivery period and achieve an accreditation within the delivered sport.

A full resource pack that covers Key Stage 1 and 2 PE delivery will be provided for Teachers to use and refer to when planning and conducting sessions (a full induction to the pack will be given to every member of staff).

Every eight weeks we will conduct a full staff training session after school to aid and support all staff with their knowledge and understanding of all the delivery sports and activities we also focus on;

  • The role of a coach
  • Skills and Qualities for effective coaching
  • Responsibilities of a coach
  • Coaching and Learning styles

Feedback will be given on all staff to the Heads of the school.
